Care

Functional clothing is genuinely multipurpose.  In winter, they keep the body warm and protect it against cooling down and in summer, they feel cool and pleasant to wear.  Cleverly designed materials made of the very latest synthetic fibres and special surface fibre treatments ensure that they provide the best possible functional clothing, particularly for stop & go activities, skiing, walking or climbing.

Synthetic fibres such as polyester, polyamide or polypropylene which are mostly used for functional clothing, are usually water repellent.  For optimum functional purposes appropriate surface treatments are designed to attract water.  This enhances both the capillary effect of the material design and removal of the moisture.  The skin surface remains dry, giving rise to a pleasant dry feeling when worn, even for long periods.  The athlete is ready to perform.

Functional clothing gradually loses its water repellent effect due to mechanical reasons (the wear-wash cycle).  With TOKO Active Dry the surface treatment is renewed with washing.  The fibres once again tend to attract water and the sportswear function is restored.  TOKO Active Dry – like the manufacturer’s original finished products – does not, however, stay on the fibres all the time.  In order to achieve optimum effect, therefore, adding TOKO Active Dry to every wash is recommended.

Application

  • Functional clothing treated with TOKO Active Dry should be placed in the washing machine in the normal way.
  • Add TOKO Soft Shell Wash to the detergent compartment as instructed on the back of the bottle.
  • Add TOKO Active Dry to the soft rinse compartment as instructed on the back of the bottle
  • The washing cycle can now commence. Functional clothing is washed normally and is treated with Active Dry at the completion stage.
  • Alternatively, clean clothes may also be placed for 30 minutes in a wash basin to which TOKO Active Dry has been added.
  • The clothes are then dried as usual in a tumble-dryer or left hanging.

Important: TOKO Active Dry is not a detergent. It is always added to the soft rinse compartment, so that it comes into contact with the clothes only after the washing process.
Nor should TOKO Active Dry be used on weather protection clothing with active breathing membranes or clothing intended for impregnation after washing
