Shoe Waterproofing

Shoes, like clothing, must be protected against water, moisture and dirt. The Shoe Care Line of TOKO Proof products is specially designed to meet leather and leather/fabric requirements, guaranteeing optimum protection and ensuring that the shoes are very well cared for, even with regular wear. The water repellent effect is based on the differential surface tension of the impregnated fabric. The greater the difference in the surface tension of two materials (in our case, fabric surface v. water droplets), the more pronounced the lyophobic effect between them. TOKO Proof products can alter the surface tension of both leather and textile fabrics such that water droplets will easily run off. Since moisture and dirt, in particular, adversely affect the natural advantages of leather such as adjustment to climate and comfortable feel, impregnation in particular should be undertaken with the greatest care.

Application

• In order to obtain an optimum water and dirt repellent effect, Toko Proof products are applied on clean dry fabric. Shoes should first be cleaned and then treated with TOKO Leather Care.
• Once the fabric is completely dry it is ready for impregnation.
• Spray shoes all over slowly and evenly from a distance of approx. 20 cm in a well ventilated room or in open air.
• Shoes must be completely dry again before use. 100% protection is achieved after approximately 24 hours.
