Marit Björgen is and remains the ultimate benchmark of the women. During the men’s race, the participants were slightly affected by the starting snowfall. The Norwegian Martin Sundby coped best with the conditions. The relay races that were held on Sunday were also dominated by the Norwegian teams who showed their standard right from the beginning of the season. Wax und Product Tests

To be prepared for the coming seasons, we intensely test things in the winter and summer months. During the last two weeks, we have been using the “laboratory” conditions of the Oberhof ski arena. In the DKB Skisport arena, there are nearly perfect testing conditions, it is calm and the snow conditions are stable and can be changed slightly by the service technicians of the ski arena. Thank you very much for that!

XC SKI Test powered by TOKO

From 13th till15th June 2012, we attended the grand XC Skitest in the DKB Skisport arena in Oberhof for you. As a partner of the popular trade magazine and web portal XC Ski, the TOKO test team spent three days there. Apart from the general preparation and the preparation of the skis, the most exciting part is of course the testing of the skis. Numerous ski companies send their new material for the various fields of application to Oberhof. From racing skis to everyday skis, the independent TOKO test team tests and evaluates the skis. Push off features, sliding features, handling etc.

CH-Championship Veysonnaz

This year’s Swiss alpine championchips took place in Veysonnaz. The first downhill training on Monday had to be cancelled due to snowfall and a soft slope. On Tuesday, there was beautiful spring weather with warm temperatures. The races had to start early in the morning as the sun then was not yet strong enough to melt the snow. For the skiers and trainers, the morning started with breakfast at 5.30, afterwards they went to have a look at the course.

Cross-Country World Cup Holmenkollen (Oslo)

The traditional 50 km race on the Holmenkollen proved to be this winter’s longest trial for the cross-country skiers. The difficult elevation profile as well as the extremely slow snow conditions put a lot of pressure on the skiers.

WC Lahti

The Norwegian women’s team showed all their strength in the women’s pursuit race. No one could keep up with Therese Johaug on the challenging leg. The lightweight used her advantage on the steep rises and won with a great margin. She was only pursued by her three team colleagues whose freestyle allowed them  to get rid of their competitors. Of these three, Marit Björgen got the best end, Heidi Weng reached third place. It was the first for her on the podium.

WC Ofterschwang

After the races in Sochi and Bansko, the women’s skiing world cup stopped over in Ofterschwang. The very well organised event in the Allgäu took over a giant slalom of Soldeu (AND). In lovely spring weather and with a big audience, many good races were held. The hosts including the numerous assistants from all over the Allgäu, did a great job. They had to work day and night as the soft snow had to be prepared using chemicals. Thanks to the very good performance of the German team in the last years, a lot of spectators showed up in Ofterschwang.
