After the world championships in Schladming, the world cup continues in Garmisch with a downhill and a giant slalom. Due to a lot of snowfall during the training days as well as thick fog in the upper leg, it was impossible to train on the whole distance. Thus early on the racing day, a training run had to take place on the upper leg so that the race could start from the planned starting point (FIS reglementation).
